I have always been an avid fan of the outdoors and of fitness related activities. As I have aged, however, I started to notice that my weight began to increase. In spite of running, hiking, and generally playing hard outside, I couldn’t keep off the pounds. I even tried several diets and still kept putting on the pounds. What was going on? It turns out that I wasn’t applying any consistency to my outdoor activities. That was the real problem and I needed to find a place that could provide a structured environment. Several Google searches led me to follow up on something called boot camp Brighton. What a revelation! I started working outside with a group of people looking to lose some serious weight and the next thing I know I’m stepping on the bathroom scale and noticing the pounds just melting away. I actually weigh less than I have in years.

I figured that I was getting too old to be running with my daughter everyday. It really bothered my knees. My daughter told me that I should still exercise though, and she is right. I feel healthier than most of my friends because they are really sedentary. I know that water aerobics might be the answer to my aging knees. I do not want to stop exercising with my daughter, but I kind of have to. When exercise brings me pain, that is how I know that I should quit. Apparently, this alternative activity is supposed to be less harsh on the joints, but it should be as effective. I never thought that there would be a day when I would feel too old to run, but here I am! That is okay though. The doctors say that I am fine. I just need to take it down a notch. We can’t all run forever!

You actually need to focus and push yourself to not cheat on your Pilates teacher training! Brooke Siler’s “The Pilates Body” seems to be a favorite. I think I just shelved Weight Reduction Pilates. I began using this DVD on April 19th and I currently feel the difference. After I put it in the VCR I figured well, I will just watch first, (that is my basic cop out with all physical exercise movies)! I purchased this one in line with the reviews and previews on you tube. Other bonus features range from the bonus section from Weight Reduction Cardio, a brief “Moves on the Go” section that concentrates on posture, and Kristen’s bio. But I’ve realized that in spite of running and biking for much of my entire life, I have hardly any hip power. The inner thigh lifts have certainly made a difference. If crunches and iron-pumping have left you completely bored, but still with a tummy bulge, this video is perfect for you.
